Wuste Tzege's Vision and Goals
The Wuste Tzega Center for Culturally Adapted Psychotherapy was created as a non-profit organization in Hadera in 2018. Its purpose is to meet the increasing need for a unique therapeutic approach for members of the Ethiopian community in Israel, and eventually, for other ethnicities with a traditional background.
The Vision of the Center
Leading change from the ground up in the Israeli mental-health system via our nationwide network of clinical treatment centers that provide culturally adapted therapy, conduct research, and offer training.
Policy change regarding culturally-adapted therapy in a changing reality.
The Center engages in diagnosis, treatment, training, and research via a unique and different therapeutic approach that uses both Western and traditional medicine and ancient and modern wisdom in the field of integrative therapy, based on a deep understanding of traditional and conservative cultures, presently that of the Ethiopian community.
The Center is intended for patients who need mental help that is adapted to their culture, faith, and various life contexts within a multicultural society.
The Goals of the Center
Dissemination of knowledge about the importance of culturally-adapted therapy in a changing reality.
Offering courses to professionals from diverse disciplines that provide knowledge, training, and guidance based on the Center’s approach, and conducting academic research as to the Center's impact.
An increase in the number of patient referrals from the Ethiopian community to our clinics.
Operating a nationwide network of centers that meet the needs of diverse populations of a tribal and traditional cultural character, beginning with the Ethiopian community.
Implementation of Wuste Tzega's approach in public-health institutions and organizations.
A decrease in the number of hospitalizations and an improvement in the mental and functional condition of the Center’s patients.
